Good surprise I bought this thinking of it as a base for modding. I was surprised by how well made this guitar is. I also have an american stand strat to compare too. You can clearly see that the neck maple on the fender is a better quality, but the one on the squier had a good hefty feel to it, same satin finish. I’m going to say right off the bat I know very little about guitars and this is my first electric I bought to use to learn. However the quality of this guitar seems to be pretty good. fender squier affinity stratocaster decided to take up the guitar so i would have something to do in the winter. did a good bit of research and decided on this one. so far, so good. bought a small fender frontman 10g to go with it and am very pleased with both. the guitar seems to be well built even if it is a lower end product. the finish is good looking and the sound is good. no ragged fret ends or scratches on it. for a beginner like me it is ideal especially for the price. would definitely recommend it.
